Hi, everyone! As most of you probably know, the custom of holding debates date back to as early as the ancient times. Thus, in ancient Greece they were regarded as an inalienable part of democracy and provided people of those times with an opportunity to discuss possible benefits and drawbacks of the laws to be adopted. Along with that, debates had a widespread use among students and their tutors and were meant to help the former ones to develop their skills in maintaining a stand and their oratorical talents. 

And we're proud to say that our school has also had a similar tradition for a while now. Earlier on today to cherish this fine tradition we held a heated and lively debate, during which two teams from the forms 9A and 9Б were brought together and asked to discuss the following motion: Success in life means money. During the debate the participants of the both teams showed an excellent command of English, as well as a clear and sophisticated understanding of the issue. After careful consideration the jury awarded the victory to the team of 9A form! Please, accept our warmest congratulations on that! 

Our special and heartfelt thanks go to the chair Fatikha Ilgizovna, who staged the whole event and ensured that all proceedings were fair, as well as the panel of adjudicators (our teachers of English Yelena Igorevna, Olesya Hasyanovna, Ella Vyacheslavovna and Natalia Viktorovna), who kindly agreed to award points to the speakers and determine the winner. 

And another big thanks go to the teachers of English Khalida Fazylovna and Ildar Ravilevich for their substantial contribution in preparing their teams for the debate.
